CLUB COACHES for SEASON 2008/2009

GILLIAN OTTERSON

Throughout her own skating career, Gillian won the British Primary, Scottish Junior and Scottish Intermediate Championships, as well as achieving second place in the British Junior event.  As a British Squad member, Gillian represented Great Britain at Junior Internationals and Scotland on many occasions. With a keen interest in sport, Gillian attended Strathclyde University where she attained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sport, this she feels enhances her coaching skills both on and off the ice.  Gillian teaches figure skating to complete beginners through to British Squad members, as well as being actively involved in teaching fitness classes at general level through to consultations with high performance athletes (Commonwealth Games representatives).  Having been nominated for the “Young Coach of the Year” award for the last three years, Gillian is a NCCP Level 4 and senior coach.  Gillian is First Aid Qualified

SUZANNE OTTERSON

NCCP Level 3 qualified NISA National Coach.  She holds the Gold Figure Skating medal and is a former British Primary and British Junior Champion.  She also took third place in the British Senior Championships.  Suzanne represented Great Britain on eight occasions including World Junior Championships in Colorado Springs and Skate America in New York.  Suzanne trained with Robin Cousins, John Curry and Frank Carrol in California alongside Michelle Kwan, Nancy Kerrigan, Surya Bonaly and many other famous ice figure skaters.Suzanne represented Great Britain in the 1992 Winter Olympic Games in Albertville in France.  Suzanne is First Aid qualified.

 

LYNSEY MURRAY

                                 Lynsey is a NCCP Level 2 Figure Skating Coach and a silver standard figure skater.  She has the British award in disco, modern and tap dancing and has a Higher grade in Physical Education.  She represented Scotland on three occasions and had the leading role in Aladdin on Ice and Peter Pan on Ice.  Lynsey took first place in the Scottish Age Groups competition.  She also skated competitively in various championships for ten years and attended many skating schools and workshops coached by Brian Orser and Annie Schelter.  Lynsey is First Aid qualified.

Lynsey is a trainee solicitor.
